The trick is to model what the big companies do. What do they do?
I worked for over 9 years for an insurance company. I phoned people on their list who’s insurance was due to renew. My job was to give them a quote and try to get their business.
What the company did was provide sales training. They did this when I first started to work for them. But… they also continued to provide ongoing training, one to one coaching and share techniques from successful people who worked there.
Why did they do this? The answer is simple.
They realised their sales people were responsible for the success of the business. So they gave them all the help they could to get them to give them the best results.The sales people were also happier as they were paid more commission.
So how can you do this for your affiliates?
What most people already do is provide an affiliates page. This is a page where potential affiliates can go to get things like product pictures, example emails and so on. But you should do more than this.
You should provide them systems and strategies to help them. Now experienced affiliates will already have these strategies. However, lesser experienced ones wont. So get them up to speed. Help them make more money and this will mean more money for you.
Research ways of getting traffic to their blogs/websites etc. Study what top affiliates do. Then share this with all your affiliates. Don’t just do this on your affiliates page. Do this instead…
Right at the top of your affiliates page put an opt in form. It will say you have lots of ongoing help and strategies to allow them to make more money. They just simply give you their email address which is saved on an autoresponder like Aweber. Then you send them out information by email using this service. Anytime you find someone new send all your signed up affiliates an update email.
This helps you in the future as well. Why?
Because when you launch a new product you can send them all an email letting them. Instant army for your new product.
Here’s a tip for you for your affiliates page. I’ve noticed a lot of affiliates promote affiliate products by posting a review on their website. However, it’s pretty basic because they haven’t looked at your product or tried it out. So it’s pretty flimsy. So here’s how you help them…
Write an honest review yourself but from an outsiders point of view. Be honest in it. Put this review straight on your affiliatees page. Say they can use as is or edit to make it more personal. They will love you for it because it will be more detailed and help drive more sales.
So get out there and start helping your affiliates to get you more sales.
